Endometrial Ablation

Endometrial Ablation is a procedure performed to reduce or eliminate heavy menses. This method is most often used or recommended for women who suffer from excessive or prolonged bleeding during their menstrual cycle but cannot or do not wish to undergo a hysterectomy. The procedure is most commonly done in the office or in an outpatient surgical setting and we offer both choices. An endometrial ablation permanently changes the uterine lining thus reducing or eliminating menses. Pregnancy after an ablation is not recommended because it can be life threatening to the mother and unborn child, so a birth control method is required following the procedure.
